"The only anxiety recovery method reverse-engineered directly from the biological mechanism that causes anxiety disorders — not tested against it after the fact, but built from it."
Is your child struggling with anxiety?
School phobia · Separation anxiety · Childhood anxiety disorders
I want to speak to every parent who is watching their child suffer and feeling helpless. What you are seeing is not permanent. It is not your child's fault. And it absolutely can be resolved — completely and permanently.

This video is intended for parents and teenagers to watch.

▶Watch — Beth speaks to parents directly
"If your child is refusing school or consumed by fear — this video is for you."
In this video Beth addresses childhood anxiety, school phobia, separation anxiety, and the broader range of anxiety disorders that can emerge in children and adolescents. She explains — clearly and calmly — what is actually happening neurologically, and why the approaches most schools and GPs recommend often make the problem worse, not better.
She also explains exactly how The Linden Method works for children, and what complete recovery looks like.
"Please watch this before you do anything else. If your child is suffering, I want you to understand that there is a clear path forward — and you do not have to figure it out alone."
— Beth Linden
Signs to look for
What childhood anxiety really looks like
Anxiety in children rarely announces itself clearly. It wears many disguises — and is often mistaken for defiance, laziness, or simply "a phase."
Refusing to go to school
School refusal and school phobia are among the most common signs of childhood anxiety. Your child isn't being difficult — they are experiencing genuine fear.
Physical complaints with no medical cause
Stomach aches, headaches, and nausea that appear before school or social events are the body's anxiety response — real, physical symptoms with an emotional root.
Avoidance, clingy behaviour or withdrawal
A child who becomes very clingy, avoids friends, or retreats from activities they once loved is often managing anxiety the only way they know how.
Perfectionism, excessive worry and reassurance-seeking
Needing constant reassurance, catastrophising small setbacks, and obsessing over 'getting things right' are signs of an anxious brain in overdrive.
Difficulty sleeping or night-time fears
An anxious child often struggles at bedtime — fears, intrusive thoughts, and reluctance to sleep alone are reliable signs of underlying anxiety.
Difficulty concentrating or declining school performance
Anxiety consumes cognitive bandwidth. A child who seems distracted, forgetful, or whose grades have slipped may be overwhelmed by fear — not laziness.
Important: None of these signs mean your child is "difficult" or that you have failed as a parent. They are neurological symptoms of an overactive fear response — and every single one of them resolves when the underlying anxiety is addressed correctly.
A personal message from Beth
I understand what it feels like to watch your child struggle.
Charles and I are parents. We have four children — Charlie, Flo, and the dogs Cecil and Percy who make everything louder and more joyful than it might otherwise be. We know what a home with children in it actually feels like.
I also know what it means to watch a child suffer and feel completely powerless to help. The guilt, the sleepless nights, the appointments that lead nowhere — the creeping fear that perhaps this is just "who they are."
I want to tell you, as clearly as I can: it is not who they are. Childhood anxiety is a learned neurological pattern — and it can be unlearned. Completely. We have watched it happen hundreds of times.
The Linden Method works for children and teenagers just as it works for adults — often more rapidly, because young brains are naturally more plastic and responsive. Early intervention matters enormously.
If you have been waiting for the right moment — this is it. Your child deserves to be free of this.

"We've had parents write to us in tears — not just because their child recovered, but because they finally understood what had been happening. That understanding alone changed everything."
"I know what it is to be a child consumed by fear — to dread school, to feel different from everyone else, to have no words for what was happening inside me. I also know what it is to be completely free of it. And I know exactly the path between the two."
Charles's story — from the inside
He lived with childhood anxiety. He knows exactly what your child is feeling.
Charles Linden didn't discover anxiety recovery from a textbook. He lived with severe anxiety from early childhood — right the way through his school years and into university. The dread, the isolation, the physical symptoms, the desperate attempts to appear "normal" while feeling anything but — he experienced all of it, firsthand, for years.
School was a daily ordeal. Social situations felt unbearable. The anxiety that began in childhood followed him into adulthood, escalating into panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, and depersonalisation before he finally found — and developed — the approach that would change his life completely.
That approach became The Linden Method.
When Charles talks to a parent about their child's anxiety, he is not offering a clinical perspective. He is speaking from the inside — from memory of exactly what that child is experiencing, what helps, and what makes it worse. That depth of understanding is woven into every part of the programme, including the guidance written specifically for children and young people.
No one is better placed to guide your child out of this — because Charles has made that journey himself, and has helped hundreds of thousands of others make it since.

What I want you to know
Before you look at anything else — please read this.
Your child is not broken
Childhood anxiety is a neurological habit — a brain that has learned to fire fear signals too readily. It is not a character flaw, a sign of bad parenting, or a permanent condition. It can be corrected.
You are not alone in this
Childhood anxiety disorders affect 1 in 8 children. As a parent watching your child suffer, the helplessness can be overwhelming. We understand — and we know exactly what to do.
Early intervention changes everything
The earlier anxiety is addressed at its root, the faster and more completely a child recovers. The Linden Method works for children and adolescents just as it does for adults — often faster.
The whole family is supported
When a child has anxiety, the whole family feels it. Our programme equips parents with the understanding and tools to support their child's recovery calmly and consistently.
A letter from Beth — to you
If you have found your way to this page, you are almost certainly exhausted.
Perhaps you have been to the GP and been told to "keep an eye on it." Perhaps your child has had some CBT and it helped a little — but the anxiety is back. Perhaps school is a battle every single morning, and you dread the alarm clock almost as much as they do.
I want to tell you something that I have said to hundreds of parents over the years, and that I mean completely: this is not your fault, and your child is not broken.
Childhood anxiety is a neurological pattern — a brain that has become calibrated to fire fear signals too readily. The approaches that work on that pattern directly produce complete, lasting results. The approaches that work around it produce temporary relief at best.
The Linden Method works directly on the neurological pattern. It always has. And it works for children just as it works for adults — in many cases, more quickly.
Your child deserves to go to school without dread. To sleep without fear. To be themselves — curious, playful, and free. That is absolutely achievable.
Please don't wait any longer. Every week of untreated childhood anxiety leaves a slightly deeper neurological groove. The sooner we begin, the sooner your child is free. We are ready for you whenever you are ready for us.
