The Linden Method · Since 1996
The complete PTSD recovery program addressing the biological root cause of trauma anxiety — without reliving your experience. End hypervigilance, flashbacks, and trauma responses permanently.
Used by over 650,000 people across 50+ countries
Understanding your experience
The fear isn't imaginary. The physical sensations are real. The way it shapes your days — what you avoid, what you plan around, what you've quietly given up — that's all real too. And if you've already tried to address it and found the results disappointing, you're not alone. Most people try several approaches before finding something that actually works.
What we want you to know, before anything else: PTSD is not a permanent condition. It has a biological mechanism — and that mechanism can be reset. That's not marketing language. It's what 650,000 recoveries across 50 countries, over 30 years, have consistently demonstrated.
What we address
The program addresses every form of post-traumatic anxiety.
This program addresses all anxiety conditions simultaneously — because every anxiety disorder shares the same biological mechanism.

A gentle explanation
If you've tried trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, or medication and still experience PTSD symptoms — this explains why.
Trauma-focused therapies require revisiting the traumatic experience. This can provide relief for some — but for many, it reactivates the biological alarm in a new context, creating additional trauma responses rather than resolving the original ones.
EMDR works with the emotional charge attached to traumatic memories — but the ongoing hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, and startle response of PTSD are maintained by the brain's alarm mechanism operating independently of specific memories.
SSRIs and other medications can reduce the intensity of PTSD symptoms — but the biological alarm remains active. When medication is changed or reduced, the symptoms return.
CBT engages with traumatic material to alter its meaning — it works at the level of thought and interpretation. But PTSD's hypervigilance, intrusions, and startle responses are maintained by the biological alarm operating independently of conscious interpretation.
EFT applies tapping to surface-level distress while focusing on traumatic material — it does not recalibrate the biological alarm generating hypervigilance, intrusive recall, and startle response. The PTSD alarm state is a neurological process that tapping does not address.
Hypnotherapy works with conscious meanings and associations attached to the trauma — it does not recalibrate the biological alarm that makes the past feel present. The PTSD alarm mechanism — the neurological process maintaining hypervigilance — continues operating regardless of what has been addressed consciously.
The Linden Method approach
PTSD is maintained by one mechanism: the brain's alarm centre — the amygdala — remaining in a permanent state of threat-readiness following a traumatic experience. Hypervigilance, flashbacks, nightmares, and startle responses are all produced by this single over-alert mechanism. The traumatic event is in the past; the alarm is in the present.
The program addresses the ongoing biological alarm — not the traumatic memory itself. You are not required to relive, re-examine, or re-describe your experience. When the alarm mechanism resets, the PTSD symptoms resolve — because they were being produced by the alarm, not by the memory.
The Linden Method was developed by Charles Linden following his own complete recovery from severe anxiety disorder. It provides the specific tools to reset the anxiety mechanism — without CBT, without medication, and without fighting your symptoms.
The goal is not 'managed PTSD.' It is a life where the past stays in the past — which is what hundreds of thousands of people have already achieved.
