Anxiety FAQs — The Most Important Questions About Anxiety Disorder Answered
Can anxiety disorder be permanently cured?
Yes. Anxiety disorder is permanently recoverable — not just manageable. The key is addressing the sensitised alarm centre (amygdala) that generates the anxiety, rather than managing its output. When the alarm centre is reconditioned to its correct sensitivity level, the anxiety disorder resolves completely and permanently. This is what The Linden Method achieves.
How long does recovery take?
Most people notice significant improvement within two to four weeks of beginning a properly structured recovery program. Full recovery typically occurs within three to six months. Some people recover much faster; people with very long-standing conditions may take slightly longer. The Linden Method's 30-Day Recovery Promise provides confidence: if you are not on the path to recovery within 30 days, 50% of your investment is refunded.
Do I need medication to recover?
No. The Linden Method is a medication-free recovery program. Many participants begin the program while on medication and reduce their medication under medical supervision as they recover. Medication can reduce symptoms and make the recovery process more comfortable, but it is not required — and many people recover fully without it.
Will my anxiety come back after recovery?
When recovery is complete — when the alarm centre has been reconditioned to its correct setting — the anxiety disorder does not return. Normal life stresses may cause temporary increases in everyday anxiety (which is normal and healthy), but the disordered anxiety response that characterises anxiety disorder does not recur. This is what distinguishes genuine recovery from symptom management.
Do I need to face my fears to recover?
No. The Linden Method does not use exposure therapy. You do not need to confront your fears directly or endure deliberate anxiety induction. Recovery occurs through the reconditioning of the alarm centre — which is achieved through the program framework. Avoidance is addressed as part of the program, but in a way that builds confidence rather than creating distress.
I've had anxiety for 20 years. Is it too late to recover?
No. The Linden Method has helped people who have had anxiety disorder for 30, 40, and even 50 years achieve complete recovery. The duration of the condition does not determine the possibility of recovery — only the speed at which it occurs. The amygdala retains its capacity for neuroplastic change regardless of how long it has been sensitised.
Is The Linden Method suitable for OCD, PTSD, and other specific anxiety disorders?
Yes. The Linden Method was designed from the beginning to treat all anxiety disorders, because all anxiety disorders share the same biological root — a sensitised amygdala. The program is used successfully for panic disorder, GAD, OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, agoraphobia, health anxiety, emetophobia, depersonalisation, HOCD, ROCD, and every other anxiety disorder presentation.
What support do I get?
The Linden Method includes access to qualified anxiety recovery coaches — people who have themselves recovered from anxiety disorder using the program. Support is available 7 days a week via email and phone. You also have lifetime access to the complete program materials, ongoing updates, and the community of people in recovery.
