The Truth About Anxiety Disorder — What You Are Not Being Told
There is a version of anxiety disorder that the mental health industry presents to the public — and there is the truth. These two things are not the same. The industry version tells you that anxiety is a complex, multi-causal condition requiring ongoing management. The truth tells you something quite different: anxiety has a single biological root, and that root can be corrected. Permanently.
Truth 1: Anxiety Disorder Has a Single Cause
Despite the bewildering variety of anxiety disorder presentations — panic, OCD, agoraphobia, health anxiety, GAD, PTSD, social anxiety, emetophobia — every anxiety disorder shares the same biological root: a sensitised alarm centre in the brain operating at the wrong threshold. This is the definitive, scientifically verifiable truth about anxiety disorder. It is also the truth that unlocks recovery.
Truth 2: CBT Does Not Cure Anxiety Disorder
CBT is effective at many things — particularly at helping people manage the thoughts and behaviours associated with anxiety. But it does not address the sensitised alarm centre generating the anxiety. This is why the scientific literature on CBT for anxiety consistently reports partial and temporary outcomes rather than complete and permanent ones. CBT is a management tool, not a cure.
Truth 3: Medication Does Not Treat Anxiety
Antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and beta-blockers suppress anxiety signals. They do not address the sensitised alarm centre producing them. When medication is discontinued, the anxiety returns — often more severely than before — because the underlying sensitisation has not been corrected. Medication provides relief. It does not provide recovery.
Truth 4: Anxiety Disorder Is Not a Lifelong Condition
You have been told — directly or by implication — that anxiety disorder requires lifelong management. This is the industry's position because the industry profits from ongoing treatment. The scientific reality is that anxiety disorder is a neurological state that can be corrected. The sensitised alarm centre can be returned to its correct baseline. When this happens, the anxiety disorder ends. Not managed into submission — ended.
The Evidence
"Since 1996, over 650,000 people have achieved complete, permanent recovery from every type of anxiety disorder using The Linden Method — the only program specifically designed to recondition the alarm centre at anxiety disorder's biological root."
